What is The ECU?

The Engine Control Unit is the ‘brain’ of the engine. Amongst other things it reads, understands and makes decisions based on the accelerator pedal demand angle, engine temperature and oxygen content in the burnt exhaust gases. Dependant on this data, it will control the correct quantity of fuel to provide a mix of fuel economy, performance and emission control.

Our sole interest is tuning a ecu to allow a vehcile to have either more power, increase fuel consumption or in many cases create a blend of both options 

Booking our remapping only bookings often will have us set up the vehicle to a base level standard allowing for increased torque, mid range boost delivery and overall a change to the vehicles performance 

 

For owners looking for a full in-depth session where we test the before & after power of the vehicle, test other names gains against live logs for exhaust temps and more we can offer our Road Dyno Tuning Sessions, these sessions come with on road power testing print out graphs and a full understanding of what the vehicle is doing under these new changes.

 

Adblue Delete

AdBlue is used in a process called selective catalytic reduction (SCR) to reduce emissions of nitrogen from the exhaust of diesel engines but it has been known to produce very high operating costs.

If you wish to reduce or completely eliminate the consumption of AdBlue in your vehicle we can reprogram the ECU to allow this. Our procedure will not illuminate dashboard error lights. Note: Removal of the AdBlue system (or similar) should only be carried out on vehicles for off road or racing use. Using a vehicle on public roads with such a system disabled is at the owner/operators risk

Road Dyno Testing & Mobile Remapping is supplied with before and after power results with our equipment & software allowing us to measure the power in the same principle as using a In-House Dyno, we have tested this method of live road tuning against 2 seperate dyno suites and results have shown we can bring this service to you as part of our expanding name and commitment to providing a sure product to you.

As part of our service, all of our bookings recieve a full health check, including where required a full pressure boost leak smoke test, all health report scans are sent to you in a report format, a full back up of your initial factory software is provided to you for safe keeping and also your chosen modified software – fully unlocked for safe keeping and sharing in any case.

Fleet Remapping

EGR Solutions 

Exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) is a nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions reduction technique used in petrol/gasoline and diesel engines.

EGR works by re circulating a portion of an engine’s exhaust gas back to the engine cylinders. This dilutes the O2 within the incoming air stream and provides gases, inert to combustion, to act as absorbents of combustion heat in order to reduce peak in-cylinder temperatures. NOx is produced in a narrow band of high cylinder temperatures and pressures.

However, the valves can become clogged with carbon deposits, causing them to fail or stick, thereby causing error codes and the vehicle to not run correctly. Our solution is a simple and effective method of improving the efficiency. Our software disables the EGR valve, and results in lowered engine temperatures, improved throttle response and better economy. It can also increase engine life by reducing oil contamination and carbon deposits.

Component Protection Removal 

RJtuning are fully equipped with VAG tool Odis which is the main dealer level software, we assist many clients who install infotainment systems and find themselves not able to use all the functions due to requiring coding & protection removal. we are also able to assist with FEC coding, Retrofitting and more.

 

Lambda/O2 Delete

O2 Delete remaps are for those who have fitted either sports¬cats or de¬cat pipes within their exhaust system and are subsequently having problems with the engine light being triggered due to emissions faults for error codes P0420 and P0430 (Cat efficiency). 

We can solve this problem by disabling these checks within the ECU map.

Start/Stop Disable

Many people do not like modern Start/Stop systems (which turns off the engine every -time they stop), but it’s becoming increasingly common on new vehicles. Normally, there is a disable button, but this has to be re¬set every ¬time the engine is restarted. With our Start/Stop Disable ECU remap, the function is disabled permanently.

Speed Limiter Removal

Many vehicles are programmed with a top speed limiter. Our speed limiter removal software allows the vehicle to reach its top speed. However, we are mindful of international road and highway laws and take the opportunity to stress our service is intended for track use only.

Swirl Flap Removal

Intake manifold flap failures are common on certain groups of cars and are expensive to replace. Our software can be used as part of a flap removal operation without causing fault codes or engine management lights.

DSG & ZF Transmission Tuning

Increased Shift Response, Torque Limiter Modifications and RPM Limiter Adjustments

Our custom written DSG transmission upgrades are designed to improve gearbox shift speed, response and smoothness. This tuning option can include launch control, shift and torque limiter functions and setting adjustments to give the driver the best possible driving experience.

Increased Shift Response

Shift response can be improved by up to 20% and paddle-reaction-time by up to 40% (in Sport mode) which provides a smoother gear to gear transition – reduces clutch slip under full acceleration and helps protect the clutch from premature failure.

Torque Limiter Modifications

Through DSG control unit tuning we release the extra torque produced from your engine whilst ensuring the safe performance of all mechanical moving hardware within the DSG transmission.

RPM Limiter Adjustments

The DSG has control of RPM limiters for each gear. Increasing these shift points gives the driver further control and command of the engine’s power in the upper RPM ranges.

Master Tool Pass Ability

If you are part of our dealer network and meet a Remap file purchase of 10 credits per month, you are invited to have your remap files both original & modified, fully unlocked, this is a rare service and allows our dealer network to use the services of many other tuning companies, rather than being locked into one name.
